Have Faith - The Lord Provides
At the beginning of January 2018 I shared a post that read, "Living by faith is not always easy and it’s scary at times. I’m looking at an empty calendar this month and I don’t make money if I’m not painting. But I choose to BELIEVE that God will provide for my family. I don’t know how but I have faith."
I posted this message humbly with the hope that I could use my experience to encourage someone reading this and show you how God provides when you are living in His will and trusting Him completely with unwavering faith. Now that January has come and gone, I can share what God has done this month to provide for me and my family. I have no doubt that I'm living my purpose and after reading this, I hope it will strengthen your faith too.
I had only one event booked this month on January 24 in Florida. It was an average event with average compensation but not nearly enough to cover bills and my families needs for the month. In the past 4 weeks I've been able to book several events that will come later this year in the following months. When the event is booked I collect a small deposit to hold the date for the booking entity. Those definitely added up and helped this month but the biggest "God-thing" that happened was about a week ago when it started to look like we weren't going to cover all of our bills for the month. I booked an event for late February and asked them to send a deposit. I was only expecting them to mail the small amount that I normally collect but for some reason they sent the entire amount and paid in full for the event! This was so unexpected but when it happened I smiled and thanked God for showing off and providing when we needed it most.
On top of that I was booked for an event on January 27 at the last minute. It was a gala for a catholic school in Dallas. My artwork auctioned for $11,000 and I got a small percentage of that amount. This event was not on my calendar until 3 days before and was a complete surprise.
These types of things have happened over and over since I started this ministry full time in October 2014 and it strengthens my faith every time. I can now live confidently knowing that God will be there for me every step of the way. All I am required to do is stay faithful and keep doing what He has called me to do - using my talent for art to glorify His name.
Matthew 6:26 says:
"Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they?"
